Organised by the Nuclear Institute, the conference takes place at The Tower Hotel, London, from 11–13 May 2027. Held every three years in the UK, RAMTrans brings together an international community of designers, operators, research organisations and regulators, with a focus on packaging for the transport, storage and disposal of radioactive and nuclear materials.

The 2024 programme showed why RAMTrans deserves a place in your diary. Keynote themes “Without transport there is no nuclear” and “Keeping Nuclear Moving” framed an agenda spanning package engineering, regulation and operations—from impact testing and ageing management to advanced reactor fuels. Posters, exhibition time and a dinner in the stunning setting of the Science Museum provided further opportunities for technical exchange and networking. Bring that same appetite for practical insight and professional connection to RAMTrans 2027.

There is also an opportunity to contribute. Paper and poster abstracts are invited until 30 November 2026, covering subjects closely related to radioactive material transport, storage and disposal. Suggested themes include artificial intelligence, climate change and sustainability, future technologies, regulatory and institutional issues, operations, package engineering and content-specific challenges. For organisations with experience or research to share, the call for abstracts offers a route into an international technical discussion.
