Progress on Rostov 2

Russia’s Rosenergoatom has issued a progress report on construction of Unit 2 of its Rostov nuclear power facility.

At a meeting in Volgodonsk the Chief Capital Construction Department, construction companies and supervisory agencies outlined construction plans for March. These include concreting 55.6m of the reactor compartment shell for installing the first section of the dome, completing preparations for installation of the polar crane and installing 36.6m of the metal structure of the reactor containment.

However, director of the Chief Capital Construction Department Anatoly Kasatkin said that its working group is to take corrective measures for reducing the lagging development. “The schedule of the project must be observed,” he said.
