Nukem appoints managing director

Germany-based nuclear fuel trader Nukem has promoted its director of fuel cycle services, Klaus Lohrey, to managing director.

The executive board of Nukem now consists of chairman Kurt Schreiber, CFO Dirk Martens, and Lohrey.

Klaus Lohrey has been with Nukem for more than 23 years. In 1996, he was named to lead the Uranium Trading Department. He has been in charge of the fuel cycle business since 2005.

NUKEM GmbH and its US subsidiary NUKEM Inc, (established in 1982), is a leading market participant in the spot market, and is among the premier suppliers in the medium-and long-term markets as well.

The NUKEM group generated a turnover of 563.7 million Euros in the financial year 2008.

In 2006, Nukem was taken over by private equity group Advent International.
