Global Nuclear Fuel (GNF), a joint venture of GE, Hitachi and Toshiba, has been awarded a multi-million dollar, six-year contract to supply fuel fabrication and related reload engineering services for Energy Northwest's Columbia Generating Station in the USA.

Under the terms of the contract, GNF will provide ongoing fuel fabrication and reload engineering services to the 1200MWe BWR plant, located 16km north of Richland, Washington, for three two-year fuel cycles beginning in 2009.

All power produced at the plant is delivered to the Bonneville Power Administration.
