FLOW CONTROL FOR FAR EAST

30 April 1998

The Curtiss Wright Corp’s flow control division has recently received orders for flow control components at Far Eastern nuclear power stations worth over $15 million. The contracts cover the supply of components for the latest two Korean nuclear plants (Yonggwang 5 & 6), including solenoid valves, and safety relief valves for the nuclear systems and pneumatic control racks for the emergency diesel generators. Under another contract, from General Electric, the company will supply 36 main steam safety valves for the twin BWR Lungmen plant, due for commercial operation in 2003/4.

In the US, Curtiss Wright is to upgrade the two-stage main steam safety valves at Limerick to a three-stage design, under an order from Peco Energy.
