Experts of the Moscow centre of the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) will carry out a technical support mission from 5 to13 April at unit 2 of the Belarus NPP in order to evaluate its operational readiness, the press service of the Belarus Energy Ministry said on 5 April.
The WANO experts will evaluate the effectiveness of the organisational structure and the administrative management of the unit and will analyse personnel training conditions, they will also inspect the radiation and fire safeguards and maintenance systems. As well as WANO experts the mission includes specialists from NPPs in Russia, Bulgaria, the UAE, and Turkey.
On 7 April, the Ministry said unit 1 of the NPP would be disconnected from the grid so that specialists could inspect and evaluate the efficiency of the systems and equipment before performing the final dynamic tests required for the phase of pilot operation. This work will be carried out in stages.
