BNFL’s specialist decommissioning and remediation division has been reshaped and relaunched as BNFL Environmental Services. The new group has already won contracts in the UK, Spain, Italy and Bulgaria.
European director George Beveridge insists that there is more behind the change than just a new name. He said: “We have put in place a radical set of changes to ensure that our business is shaped for success in an increasingly competitive arena. We have added to our skills base from both within the company and externally, with a number of key appointments.” The launch of BNFL Environmental Services signals BNFL’s anticipation of decommissioning contracts in the UK as the country’s stations reach the end of their lives.
