Uzbek specialists are set to join the construction of the Akkuyu NPP being built by Rosatom in Türkiye, marking a new phase in labour and energy cooperation between Uzbekistan and Türkiye. Three regions of Uzbekistan will open professional skills assessment centres jointly with Türkiye, operating in line with Turkish standards. During an official visit to Türkiye, the head of the Uzbek Migration Agency, Bekhzod Musaev, held talks with the management of the Arya organisation.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on assessing the professional qualifications of Uzbek citizens seeking employment in Türkiye. The new assessment centres will be launched in Tashkent, Namangan Region, and Syrdarya Region. They will evaluate the knowledge and skills of specialists in 25 professions according to Turkish standards and issue internationally recognised certificates.
By the end of the year, Uzbekistan plans to send 1,500 certified specialists to work on the construction of Türkiye’s Akkuyu NPP. Earlier, the Migration Agency also reported agreements reached with the Ministry of Labor and Social Security of Türkiye. Under these arrangements, Uzbek citizens residing illegally in Türkiye will be able to legalise their status without deportation, while work permits will be issued after three years of residence.
In addition, Musaev reached an agreement with Turkish company KSK Temizlik to recruit Uzbek migrant workers for large-scale construction projects in Ankara. The company plans to hire up to 2,500 workers this year.
