The Kozloduy International Decommissioning Support Fund (KIDSF), administered by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), was established in 2001 for the support of the decommissioning of Units 1-4 of the Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant. It is loking for a project management unit consultant for the implementation of the decommissioning programme and construction of a national radioactive waste disposal facility.

The decommissioning programme is at the stage of implementation and State Enterprise Radioactive Waste (SERAW) intends to use grant funds for financing the service of a Project Management Unit (PMU) Consultant for the continuation of the implementation of the decommissioning programme of Units 1-4 of the Kozloduy NPP and for the management of the construction of the National Radioactive Waste Disposal Facility for the period of 2012-2014.

The scope of the PMU activity will include general project and decommissioning management, preparation of technical specifications, procurement and contract management, as well as financial, nuclear safety, quality assurance and environmental impact assessment tasks.

The budget of the service for the 2012-2014 period is €15 million.

The publication of the Invitation for Expression of Interest is expected in September 2011.

Short listed companies will be invited to submit proposals in line with the EBRD Procurement Policies and Rules and will be open to firms from eligible countries as of 1 July 2011: EU member states, Switzerland and the EBRD countries of operation.
