The Russian fuel manufacturer, Mashinostroitelny Zavod, is continuing its 20-year partnership with the UK’s GEI Courtoy with an additional $1.08 million order for the R53 industrial press. The presses are used for the production of UO2 pellets at speeds of up to 300 pellets/minute. GEI Courtoy industrial presses are an alternative to hydraulic presses which, the company says, are more expensive and slower.
The R53 press features pellet green density control and offers controlled ejection forces. This allows the Courtoy machine to meet the quality of pellets achieved using hydraulic presses, whilst giving the benefit of high production rates.
