AREVA wins contract to supply nuclear fuel to Gösgen

26 July 2013

AREVA has announced that it will fabricate nuclear fuel assemblies for five reloads of the Gösgen nuclear power plant in Switzerland.

Under a new contract, the French reactor vendor will deliver 180 fuel assemblies to KKG, starting in 2018. AREVA says it has been fabricating fuel elements for the Gösgen pressurized water reactor since it started up in 1979.

AREVA is also retrofitting the reactor instrumentation and control system with its I&C TELEPERM® XS system.
