Korea Electric Power (Kepco) and PT Perusahaan Umum Listrik Negara (PLN) of Indonesia have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to conduct development work on a proposed nuclear plant in Indonesia.
Together with Kepco affiliate Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power, the companies are to develop a business plan over the next year including data on plant management, project financing and technology. Following a successful development plan PLN is expected to perform an international tender for a 1000MWe nuclear plant.
