Electricité de France (EDF) has announced a number of senior management appointments in order to focus on full deregulation of the French market by July 2007 and international growth.
Pierre Gadonneix, chairman and chief executive of the company confirmed a number of appointments including two newly appointed senior executive vice presidents, Dominique Lagarde responsible for strategy and coordination; and Gérard Wolf, with responsibility for international operations.
Lagarde, 40, started out with Total Oil Marine in London and the Nuclear Safety Authority, he then worked for the Atomic Energy Commission from 1997 to 2000 where he was in charge of operating the Osiris reactor. He joined EDF in 2000.
Wolf, 51, is an agricultural engineer. He began his career as a civil servant with local government and from 1996 to 1998 he was deputy director for the emergency services and fire services with the Ministry of the Interior. He joined EDF in 1998 and since 2004 he has been executive vice president in charge of group development and major projects.
