The founding meeting of China Fusion Energy Company has been held in Shanghai. Gong Zheng, Deputy Secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, attended together with Shen Yanfeng, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Chairman of China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC). China Fusion is a secondary unit directly under CNNC and will focus on the overall design, technology verification, digital R&D and other businesses. It will build a technology R&D platform and a capital operation platform.
At the inaugural meeting, China Fusion signed a cooperation agreement to deepen the fusion innovation consortium with Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China Electrical Equipment Group, Shanghai Electric Group, Shenergy Group and other units in Shanghai. China Fusion also signed capital and share expansion agreements with shareholders including CNNC, PetroChina Kunlun Capital, Shanghai Future Fusion, China Nuclear Power, Zheneng Electric Power, National Green Development Fund and Sichuan Heavy Industry Fusion.
CNNC said the formal establishment of China Fusion Company represents “important progress made by state-owned central enterprises in promoting the future fusion industry, opening a new chapter in accelerating the construction of a world-class fusion energy company”.
