In response to the increasing demand for its range of nuclear pumping equipment CLYDEUNION Pumps has recently invested over GBP 5.5m in its largest manufacturing facility in Glasgow, Scotland. This major investment is centred on a state of the art machining centre consisting of three new machines, equipment & software and a complete upgrade of the surrounding infrastructure.

The nuclear pumping equipment supplier has begun operations in a new £5.5 million facility at its existing factory in Glasgow, Scotland. The investment delivers additional capacity, reduced manufacturing lead time, improved quality and repeatability and importantly allows for easy transfer of manufacturing data between the companies manufacturing sites in Europe, Asia and the Americas, the company said.

The factory incldues one vertical and one horizontal machining centre from Giddings and Lewis of the USA and a five-axis machining centre from Deckel Maho of Germany.

The site has held the ASME N-stamp continuously since 1977 and produces a full range of coded, safety related and balance of plant pumps.
