British firm AMEC has been awarded a one-year contract to supply the decontamination and remotely operated equipment for the new build programme at the Mochovce nuclear power plant in Slovakia.
The contract was awarded by Skoda JS to AMEC’s Slovakian business, which is a long-term supplier of decontamination equipment for VVER reactors in Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
The contract will strengthen AMEC’s position in the Central European market, says the company.
Slovakian utility Slovenské Elektrárne (SE), which is controlled by Italy’s Enel, is completing the construction of units 3 and 4 at the Mochovce site. Start-up is planned for 2012-2013.
