Iran to build more NPPs and co-operate with oil industry

The head of the Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran (AEOI), Mohammad Eslami, has reiterated plans to increase the number of NPPs in order to achieve a total capacity of 20,000 MWe. During a visit of the Bushehr NPP in southern Iran, he said the project "seeks to align Iran with global standards in nuclear power production”.

Oklo and ANL complete second THETA testing campaign

US-based Oklo has completed the second phase of the Thermal Hydraulic Experimental Test Article (THETA) testing campaign in collaboration with the US Argonne National Laboratory (ANL). THETA is a sodium fixture with instrumentation installed at ANL’s Mechanisms Engineer Test Loop (METL) facility.

Korean shipbuilder joins nuclear shipping project

HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (KSOE), a subsidiary of South Korea's HD Hyundai, is to collaborate in a nuclear shipping project with UK start-up Core Power and US Southern Company and TerraPower. This followed a joint research and technology exchange meeting at Terrapower’s headquarters in Washington DC.
