Various service contracts, UK (Deadline: 10 January 2011)

26 November 2010

Delivery of the design, engineering and safety case assessment work required by the Sellafield Site. This type of work includes:

— initial studies, concept and preliminary phases in delivering design and safety assessment packages,

— detailed design, procured construction phases working with implementation contractors,

— the maintenance of design intent,

— support to operational plants including operational safety cases, condition surveys, root cause analysis, refurbishment and enhancement design packages, and assessments of existing assets,

— support to post-operational clean out and decommissioning.

These services will be provided for delivery and support of the range of plant and equipment at both the Sellafield and Capenhurst sites. To enable effective management the requirement is broken down into 4 main system lots based on system technologies, so that each lot incorporates all design and engineering and other work, including (but not be limited to) safety case, test rigs, trials investigations, consultancy support etc; as required to deliver a complete system design. The lots shall consist of:

— lot 1: mechanical handling systems,

— lot 2: mechanical handling systems,

— lot 3: process plant systems,

— lot 4: process plant systems,

— lot 5: control, electrical and instrumentation (CE&I) systems,

— lot 6: control, electrical and instrumentation (CE&I) systems,

— lot 7: civil, structural and architectural (CS&A) systems,

— lot 8: civil, structural and architectural (CS&A) systems.

The total cost of the scope is hard to define and thus a broad range has been identifed. Sellafield Ltd's estimated contract value per lot is further developed within the tender documentation.

Please see the tender documentation for more information.
