Ukraine sets up control system

The Ukraine government established a new supervisory board for the national nuclear utility EnergoAtom. The new body was approved by the government based on a proposal from the Ministry of Fuel and Energy, and cannot include members who are already company board members or officials. Member of parliament Andriy Derkach was appointed chairman of the supervisory board. Also on the board are the state finance secretary Serhiy Baulin, government energy expert Tatyana Amasova, Viktor Baryakhtar of the Ukraine National Academy of Sciences, chief nuclear safety inspector Anatoliy Demyanenko, national energy regulation commission head Yuriy Prodan, deputy state secretary for fuel and energy Mykola Steinberg, national security service deputy head Serhiy Chernykh, and several members of parliament.
