Turbine building near completion at Kursk-II unit 1

In the turbine building for unit 1 of Russia’s Kursk-II NPP is almost complete. Some 80 people were involved in the roofing work. Danila Rashchenko, Head of the Production & Technical Division of the TITAN-2 Directorate for Construction of Facilities in Kursk Oblast, said the ceiling was concreted in stages over six months including technological processes and equipment installation.

“First, we performed concreting of the ceiling for mounting the rotor, after which the deaerator equipment was installed, and then, depending on the installation work, the ceiling was sequentially performed.” Work is still required to complete the concreting of the finishing floors after the installation of further equipment.
