Skoda ahead of schedule with Taishan contract

9 March 2012

The trial assembly of the nuclear reactor internals for the Taishan 1 EPR in China was finished two months ahead of schedule, Skoda has annouced.

Skoda received an order for the second set of EPR reactor internals in May 2009, with a delivery date of the second half of May 2012.

However, in a statement Skoda, which is owned by Russia's OMZ Group, said that “based on the customer’s proposal and a careful analysis of all production activities and Skoda JS’ site capacity, the delivery date was reduced by two months.”

Skoda announced, 5 March, that the trial assembly of the parts had been completed in the Skoda reactor hall.

Skoda was also responsible for producing the reactor internals for the Finnish Olkiluoto 3 project, which were delivered in 2010.
