Consumers Energy's Palisades nuclear plant returned to service on January 21, ending a shutdown that began in June 2001.
Extensive maintenance, inspection, and testing work was performed during the outage, including a major maintenance programme that involved replacement of 45 control rod drive upper housings.
The Palisades plant is operated by the Nuclear Management Company of Hudson, Wisconsin.
