NPP airlocks, UK and/or France (Deadline: 3 March 2011)

The scope of works for the proposed contracts includes:

1) UK 2211: studies, supply, qualification, manufacturing, and associated controls, delivery, erection, commissioning and on-site testing for 4 airlocks for 2 units at Hinkley point new nuclear power plant (twin-reactor site) (2 airlocks per unit)

2) PE 2211: studies, supply, qualification, manufacturing, and associated controls, delivery, erection, commissioning and on-site testing for 2 airlocks for Penly 3 new nuclear power plant (single reactor site)

EPR HR airlocks are used for the traffic of the personnel as well as small equipments, whatever the state of the nuclear power pant, without affecting the containment of the enclosure. The personal HR airlock is erected in the reactor building at level +1,5m, the emergency exit HR airlock at level +19,5m. Both airlocks are identical. They are part of the third containment barrier.

Total quantity or scope

Each nuclear unit includes 1 personal exit and 1 emergency exit HR airlocks.

1) UK2211

— Hinkley point nuclear power plant: 2 firm units: 4 airlocks,

— option 1: other nuclear power plant in the UK: 1 optional unit (2 airlocks),

— option 2: other nuclear power on the same site as option 1 or in a third site. (2 airlocks).

2) PE 2221:

PENLY 3 Nuclear Power Plant: 2 Airlocks.
