Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) has received an order for a set of replacement control rod drive mechanisms (CRDM) for unit 4 of Sweden’s Ringhals, 60 km south of Gothenburg.
The plant came on-line in 1983 and MHI had previously installed a replacement reactor vessel closure head at the 915MWe PWR in 2004. The CRDMs will be manufactured at MHI’s Kobe Shipyard works and are slated for delivery in May 2008.
