Kepco strengthens co-operation with KAIST

South Korea’s Kepco Nuclear Fuel Company (KNF) and the Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology (KAIST) have signed a mutual cooperation business agreement to improve academic research and nuclear industry development competitiveness. The two institutions will jointly research the develop new technologies in the field of the nuclear fuel cycle, exchange research personnel and technical information, share research equipment and facilities, and co-operate with other interested institutions.

“In the future, we will build a mutual interdisciplinary system to increase the competitiveness of both institutions,” KNF said. Through the agreement, “it is planned to open training courses on nuclear expertise, programming, and the latest R&D trends that reflect the needs of Kepco Nuclear Fuel”. Officials from both companies attended the signing ceremony, including KNF President Ik-Soo Choi and KAIST President Kwang-Hyung Lee.
