Hacking at Bradwell

29 January 2001

Information regarding an attempted breach of computer security at Bradwell has been released.

The incident took place in June 1999, in which a security guard tried to alter and delete information. The Department of Trade and Industry said that the incident did not cause a breach of security, but that a review of personnel security was undertaken, and, in the light of that review, a revised security procedure is being introduced in March.

According to some reports, the incident resulted in a lockdown of the plant to accomodate a security audit, making it difficult for personnel to get on or off site.
