Framatome wins TVA fuel contract

30 August 2001

Framatome ANP said it had won a contract by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) for the supply of nuclear fuel and related services to Browns Ferry 2 and 3, near Athens, Alabama.

Pellets in the fuel assemblies will be fabricated from downblended highly-enriched uranium from the Savannah River plant.

Fuel deliveries to Browns Ferry are planned to begin in 2004 and continue for 12 years. TVA will be receiving the Atrium-10 fuel assembly, Framatome’s most advanced fuel for BWRs.
