Framatome partnership awarded Davis Besse contract

28 September 2001

A consortium comprising Framatome ANP, Duke Engineering & Services and Entergy Nuclear has won a contract at the Davis Besse station in Ohio under FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company’s (FENOC) Maximum Value Programme (MVP).

Releases for three individual work scopes contained in the contract have been implemented with other work releases planned for the future.

The consortium will provide licence renewal application preparation, a summer operation study and a lifecycle management study. Davis Besse and Framatome ANP are also negotiating contract releases for a power uprate and a conversion to improved standard technical specifications under the MVP. Future efforts will focus on plant secondary side upgrades.

Submission of the licence renewal application for the station is planned for the end of 2004.
