Five Star Products opens US facility

1 August 2011

US-based firm Five Star Products has opened a dedicated nuclear production plant and quality control laboratory in Chardon, Ohio to manufacture nuclear safety-zone products including a selection of grouts and cement.

The facility will manufacture six products reaching Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) 10CFR50 Appendix B and American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) NQA-1 quality standards.

These include: cement-based grout; a non-shrink fluid grout for machinery requiring precision alignment; a high-performance, multi-purpose epoxy grout; a versatile, dual-purpose epoxy grout; and two types of high-strength, one-component, low-shrinkage permanent concrete repair material.

“We operate our industrial facilities under the ISO 9001-2008 Quality Management System,” explains Brian Feidt, CFO & chief quality officer. “By ensuring that we have these nuclear quality processes in place, and that our products have been thoroughly tested, we can provide our nuclear customers with the assurance they need when specifying our products.”
