Electricité de France (EdF) has announced a major corporate restructuring, aimed at encouraging synergies between its global activities.
As of 1 February, 2002 the group's activities in 22 countries are divided among four main geographical branches: Central Europe, headed by Marc Boudier; Western Europe, Mediterranean and Africa, headed by Bo Kallstrand; Americas, headed by Fernando Ponasso; and Asia-Pacific, headed by Hervé Machenaud.
Three further branches will be based on business activities. In France, two branches have been created in response to the introduction of deregulation: the energy branch, responsible for all production and trading activities, will be headed by Bruno Lescoeur; and the sales branch, which will be headed by Jean-Pierre Benqué.
The development branch, headed by Michel Crémieux, oversees EdF Développement Environnement and its affiliates. This worldwide branch will develop new businesses.
Management of the electricity transport network (RTE) and energy services (Dalkia) are unchanged.
An eight-member executive committee oversees the group and coordinates group strategy.
