DS&S acquires Schneider

1 February 2003

Data Systems and Solutions (DS&S) has acquired the nuclear unit of Schneider Electric, based in Grenoble, France. The unit generates annual sales of around E20 million and employs 200 people. DS&S said the sale guarantees "current jobs and contracts and the sustainability of the Grenoble organisation." DS&S currently offers software products and services to over 80 nuclear plants in the USA and Europe. The addition of Schneider's nuclear unit will expand DS&S's range to include the SPINLINE 3 system, reactor protection systems, neutron flux detectors and rod position indicators, and other instrumentation and control systems.
