Coming and going

3 June 2003

The chairman of the supervisory board of the Areva group, Pascal Colombani, has resigned his position that he has held for two years. British Energy (BE) has announced his appointment, along with William Colley as non-executive directors to its board, with effect from 1 June 2003.

Colley comes to the board after he retired from the group presidency of Duke Power in the USA in February.

BE chairman Adrian Montague said: "Pascal Colombani has a broad strategic view across the nuclear industry, with particular emphasis on safety issues, reactor designs and technological innovations. William Colley is a highly experienced nuclear operator who has a track record as a hands-on manager in transforming the performance of nuclear plants."
