4 August 2017

China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) on 30 July signed a two-year commercial contract and framework agreement with the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission for technical cooperation in the exploration and development of uranium resources.

China's uranium industry will make use of its technological advantages, its nuclear research institutes, nuclear chemistry industry, aerial remote sensing centre and other facilities to support cooperation with Pakistan.

The agreement covers technical cooperation in the exploration and development of uranium resources, nuclear technology applications and worker training. China has already exported four 300MWe reactors to Pakistan and is constructing two 1000MWe units.
