Brunswick to be uprated

Carolina Power & Light has received approval from the NRC to increase the generating capacity at its Brunswick 1 and 2 reactors by 15% each. Work will begin immediately at unit 1, increasing capacity from 841MWe to 958MWe, while work on unit 2 will start in 2003, raising its capacity from 835MWe to 951MWe.
