Amec and UKAEA forge Kopec link

11 July 2006

AMEC Nuclear and the UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) have signed a memorandum of understanding with Kopec, South Korea’s Korean Power Engineering Company, to target work in nuclear waste management and repository projects, decommissioning, reactor services and nuclear plants in both Korean and international markets.

In addition, AMEC and UKAEA will support an education exchange programme to allow Kopec to send key staff to the UK to gain nuclear decommissioning experience.

The companies aim to win work in the multi-billion pound South Korean nuclear market.
