AEA Technology teams up with Canatom

UK based AEA Technology has formed a consortium with Canadian company Canatom NPM, to offer waste management, decontamination and decommissioning services to the Canadian nuclear industry. The Canadian market is likely to be £20 million a year.

AEA Technology has worked with Canatom at Chernobyl. Canatom-AEAT will be based in Ontario. AEA Technology will concentrate on waste treatment technology and processes; decommissioning planning; decontamination technology; design of waste treatment and handling plant; waste transport technology; health physics technology; site survey and land remediation consultancy; and safety assessments.

Canatom’s expertise is in radioactive materials management, health physics and radiation protection.
