The annual Waste Management Conference, presented by WM Symposia, has published a call for abstracts and detailed topic list on its website, www.wmsym.org. WM is widely regarded as the premier international conference on the management of radioactive materials and related topics. WM2012, to be held February 26 – March 1, 2012 at the Phoenix Convention Center in Phoenix, Arizona, will be the conference’s 38th year and is expected to attract over 2,000 nuclear specialists from over 35 countries, presenting more than 500 papers in over 90 technical sessions.

The conference theme for WM2012 is: Improving the Future in Waste Management.

Sponsoring organizations include the American Nuclear Society (ANS), the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development/Nuclear Energy Agency (OECD/NEA). The conference is also organized with input from the US Department of Energy (DOE), the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA); the US Department of Defense (DOD) and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

The submission deadline is Friday, August 19, 2011. The conference limits the number of abstract submissions to two per presenter, but does not limit the number of abstracts co-authored.
