Russia’s West Engineering has completed the manufacture and delivery of 10 safety class 2 and 3 power racks for unit 5 of India’s Kudankulam NPP. The equipment is designed to provide stable and safe power supply to panel elements and consoles of block and backup control points. The work was carried out under a contract for the manufacture and shipment of equipment to Kudankulam units 5&6. West Engineering is now manufacturing racks for unit 6.
The power racks provide elements for panels and remote controls of the power supply unit with a stable voltage of 24 V. This is necessary for the correct operation of sound alarm devices, monitoring and control elements, alarm boards located on the panels and remote control systems.
West Engineering specialises in the creation of new, and the modernisation of existing, electrical equipment, automatic control and regulation systems for complex technological processes at industrial and nuclear energy facilities.
