Tender issued for Paks equipment

Russian state nuclear corporation Rosatom last week launched a tender for the turbine equipment Hungary’s Paks-II expansion project, units 5 and 6 of the Paks nuclear power plant.

Rosatom’s engineering company Atomstroyexport has issued a tender for production and delivery of main and auxiliary equipment of the turbine hall for future nuclear reactors worth €770m, according to Rosatom’s procurement website.

Applications will be accepted until 6 July this year for a decision on 26 July. In March construction of the new Paks units were officially approved by the European Commission, and in April the project received the final environmental permit and site licence from the Hungarian Atomic Energy Agency.
