Success for simulator projects

29 January 2001

In recent weeks a Corys TESS and Belgatom partnership successfully completed four significant power plant simulator projects in central and eastern Europe.

Two modern, fully specific full scope simulators at Bohunice in Slovakia were realised at a fraction of the “from scratch” development cost, due to extenive re-use of parts of the recently developed screen-operated simulators. The Bohunice V2 simulator replaced the outdated full scope simulator, of which only the original control panels were maintained. For the V1 simulator, which had no predecessor, new control panels were built.

A BNPP simulator at the Beloyarsk plant in Russia (BN600 fast breeder reactor) and a screen-operated analytical simulator for Armenia’s Metzamor plant also recently passed acceptance tests.
