25 August 2021

Three steam generators for the Hualong One reactor at unit 1 of the Zhangzhou NPP, developed by Harbin Electric Group Reinstallation Company on 18 August passed an acceptance inspection by representatives of China National Nuclear Corporation, Guodian Zhangzhou Energy Co Ltd and China Nuclear Power Research and Design Institute.

Harbin Electric Group Heavy Equipment Co (HEC Group) said it had ensured steady progress of the project by implementing continuous production to meet the delivery schedule. This included optimising the management process, standardising risk prevention and control, and specialist manufacturing such as welding of multiple parts in parallel. As a result the upper assembly of the steam generator was reduced by 60 days to 14 days, and the manufacturing cycle of the clean room process of the lower module was reduced from 120 days to 96 days.
