Spain’s Tecnatom said on 4 July that it had established a new company, Farfield NDT Inc, as a joint venture with US company Innerspec Technologies as part of its process of diversification and internationalisation.
The new business will provide special inspection services in the North American market using the combined experience and capacity for technology development of the two companies. Innerspec is manufactured and develops instrumentation and applications for non-destructive testing-based inspection using EMAT (Electro Magnetic Acoustic Transducers), Dry-Coupled UT ultrasonics and high-energy UT technologies. Tecnatom said FarField NDT would integrate the know-how of the two companies to develop optimised solutions in complex projects, where conventional inspection techniques are not capable of providing satisfactory solutions. FarField NDT will also offer training and consulting services aimed at providing integral, high added value services.
Tecnatom added that the new company, along with the recent establishment of its subsidiary, Tecnatom México, and the activities of Tecnatom USA, “reinforce our competitive position in the North American markets, which are especially significant for the Group’s business”.
