Russia signs MOU with Ethiopia

Russian state nuclear corporation Rosatom has signed a memorandum of understanding in the use of atomic energy for peaceful purposes with the Ministry of Science and Technology of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.

The signing took place on 19 June on the sidelines of the Atomexpo-2017 Forum in Moscow. The MOU aims to develop bilateral cooperation in the peaceful use of nuclear energy in areas such as the use of radioisotopes and radiation technology in industry, medicine, agriculture and other fields; training and education in the field of peaceful use of nuclear energy; assist in the creation and development of nuclear energy infrastructure; the development of public awareness programs about nuclear technology and applications.

It also provides for the creation of working groups to develop specific joint projects aimed at the development of cooperation.
