Rosatom signs MOU with Burundi

Rosatom and the Burundi Ministry of Water Resources, Energy and Mines on 21 April signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on cooperation in the peaceful use of nuclear energy. The MOU, the first of its kind with Burundi, was signed in Moscow by Rosatom Deputy Director General Nikolai Spassky and Burundi Minister of Water Resources, Energy and Mining Abraham Uvizeye.

The document establishes the basis for cooperation in a wide range of areas, in particular, for the development of the nuclear infrastructure in Burundi, for the development of programmes to raise public awareness of nuclear technologies, and for the use of radioisotopes and radiation technologies in industry, agriculture and medicine.
