3 September 2014

H. M. (Hash) Hashemian, founder of Analysis and Measurement Services Corporation (AMS) in Knoxville, Tennessee, has been granted the highest membership grade of the American Nuclear Society.

The election comes after nomination by peers, review by the honours and awards committee and election by the society's board of directors, ANS said. He and other new fellows will be recognized at the opening of the ANS winter meeting in California in November.

Hashemian, a regular contributor to Nuclear Engineering International magazine, has written articles about digital instrumentation and control, remote sensing and asset management, among others. His latest book is Monitoring and Measuring I&C Performance in Nuclear Power Plants (International Society of Automation, 2014).
