Bruce B breaks operational record

13 December 2012

All four units at the Bruce B nuclear station in Ontario, Canada, have been in operation for 104 days, setting the record for the longest consecutive operation.

Bruce 5-8 are expected to continue operation until 4 January, when the first maintenance outage of 2013 will begin at unit 5.

"To set and build upon a four-unit, long-run record is not the product of good luck - it's the result of our people taking every opportunity to do the best job possible from the start of their shift until the time they safely return to their families," commented Pete Milojevic, Station Senior Vice President.
