Canada-based Kinectrics said on 29 January it had completed its acquisition of the Nuclear Romania business from the Wood Group (formerly Amec Foster Wheeler). The Romania business focuses on nuclear services to the Cernavodă NPP, which features Candu pressurised water reactors.

"The closing of the Romania business completes our purchase from the Wood Group and puts us in a better position to meet the needs of Candu reactors worldwide," said Kinectrics CEO David Harris.

“This acquisition creates a stronger platform for international expansion.”  Kinectrics is an integrated life cycle management services company providing testing, inspection, certification and engineering consulting for the electric power generation, transmission and distribution markets.
