Spain’s Grupo Dominguis Energy Services (GDES) and South Korea’s Kepco Plant Service & Engineering Co (Kepco KPS) have signed a collaboration agreement to promote mutual development and cooperation in the Spanish and French markets in the field of NPP maintenance. The alliance combines GDES’s European nuclear industry experience Kepco KPS’s expertise in operation, diagnosis and maintenance services for energy facilities.
The signing ceremony, which took place at Kepco’s headquarters in Naju, South Jeolla Province, and was chaired by Kepco Executive KPS Vice President Ho-Kwang Jun and GDES CEO Héctor Dominguis.
Through this agreement, Kepco KPS plans to establish a mutual cooperation framework across various maintenance technology fields, including maintenance and equipment diagnostics for Spanish nuclear plants. It plans to enter the market of operating nuclear power plants in Europe by expanding technology exchanges with GDES.
A Kepco KPS official said, “Cooperation with GDES will go beyond simple technology exchange to become a global partnership model that combines the strengths of both companies. With this agreement, we will actively expand Kepco KPS’s maintenance capabilities not only in Europe but also in markets around the world.”
GDES said the alliance will enable both companies to share know-how, resources and capabilities “in pursuit of common objectives”. It said the partnership “brings together GDES’s long-standing expertise in the European nuclear sector and Kepco KPS’s strong technological capabilities as a leading South Korean provider of operation, diagnostics and maintenance services for energy facilities”.
