Nuclear Engineering International has published more than 100 reactor diagrammes since it included a black and white cutaway diagram of the British Experimental Pile in April 1956.
Now all 105 charts have been rescanned in high resolution. The series covers every major type of technology, and includes PWRs, BWRs, PHWRs, FBRs, HTGRs, Magnox and others.
The University of New Mexico library is planning to host low-resolution versions of all of the charts on its website (www.neimagazine.com/smallwallcharts).
But for optimal study, high-resolution versions of every wallchart published are now available direct for order. A high-resolution PDF costs GBP62 (about $100), and a print costs GBP124 (about $200), including shipping. To see the full list of charts, or place an order, go to www.neimagazine.com/wallcharts.
To celebrate the launch of the series, NEI is giving away a printed version of any one of the 105 charts to a lucky reader. Participants interested in entering should send an email to info@neimagazine.com (subject line: ‘wallchart competition’) with contact details and an answer to this question: In what year was the first NEI wallchart published? NEI will select a winner at random from entries containing the correct answer received by 3 April 2010.
