France’s Framatome on 1 April announced the launch of Framatome Kft, a wholly owned subsidiary focused on automation systems for industry customers in Hungary and Central Europe. The creation of Framatome Kft follows Framatome’s acquisition of Evopro nuclear and process automation (NPA) Kft.
“We are committed to expanding our team’s skills and growing internationally so we are well positioned to support the nuclear industry in providing reliable, low-carbon energy,” said Framatome CEO Bernard Fontana. “With the launch of Framatome Kft, we strengthen our presence in Central Europe and bring our team closer to our customers in the region.”
Balázs Bodnár is managing director of Framatome Kft, a role he served in at Evopro NPA for more than 15 years. Approximately 30 Evopro NPA employees in Budapest, Hungary, will move to Framatome Kft. Evopro NPA’s expertise includes projects that involve instrumentation and control (I&C) for the nuclear industry and the European Spallation Source, and process and other energy automation activities, mainly in Hungary.
“We are delighted to welcome the Evopro NPA team to Framatome and to work together to expand on business opportunities in Hungary,” said Frédéric Lelièvre, senior executive vice president of Sales, Regional Platforms and I&C at Framatome. “We have worked closely with Evopro NPA on several projects and know our customers will benefit from the synergies between our two companies.”
